Daniel Bracho is a Miami-based artist and live illustrator whose career has always been rooted in creating in the moment. Before developing his current body of work, he spent years as a live illustrator, drawing guests at events and turning people, fashion, and fleeting moments into artwork right in front of them in a matter of minutes.

Then, in May 2026, his life changed overnight.

After suffering a stroke, Daniel lost much of the movement on his right side, including the use of his dominant hand. The same hand he had spent his life drawing with could no longer do what had once felt effortless.

So he started over.

With his left hand, Daniel began by writing the alphabet, relearning how to make marks on a page one letter at a time. Those letters became drawings. Those drawings became paintings. And those paintings became the beginning of the work he creates today.

His work is now looser, bolder, more instinctive, and deeply personal, combining bright color, imperfect lines, humor, and the freedom of creating without knowing exactly where something will end up.

Through it all, Daniel has learned that being an artist was never about which hand held the pencil or about creating something perfect. It was about creating anyway.

For him, creating has never stopped. It just changed hands.
